Residents urged to help locate thieves

21 Feb, 2002 07:48 AM
Thieves ruined what should have been the happiest day of their lives for Paul and Kelly Tishler.

While the couple was exchanging wedding vows earlier this month, thieves broke into their home.

Now all the couple wants is to find the criminals, see them brought to justice, and move on with their lives.

Mr Tishler said he was angry and felt the offenders had no right to violate their home.

"They are absolute low-lifes and nothing but cowards.

"How dare they break into our home, take our possessions and destroy our property," he said.

Mr Tishler said he and his wife have had to work for what they own.

"They assume that we have plenty, but we worked hard for what we have.

"They need to stop being so lazy, get off their bums and start working, instead of ripping hard workers off," he said.

Mr Tishler said they've had their agis rolled, claims ratted, fuel taken and work vehicles stolen.

"We have taken it all on the chin.

"But the day they entered our home, they made the biggest mistake," Mr Tishler said.

"Enough is enough, be assured we won't rest until they've been caught."

He said they have had a gut-full with the whole scene.

"Our town is being harassed by these losers who keep on getting away with it."

Mr Tishler said unfortunately the town was not what it used to be anymore.

"Gone are the days when people would look out for each other," he said.

"Sadly, today the attitude is to turn a blind eye instead."

Mrs Tishler said they lived in a small town where everyone seemed to know everyone's business, but when someone got robbed to this extent, no one appeared to know anything.

"We had lots stolen, including a motor vehicle."

"How can a car just disappear? Get real," she said.

Mr Tishler said while the criminals had got them this time, it would not happen again.

The couple said they were urging the community if they knew anything about what happened during the weekend of the break-in to contact the police and help them out.

"Do your conscience a favour and dob in these low-lifes."

"These people obviously have no morals and are nothing more than moronic criminals," she said.

Mrs Tishler said the town needed to get rid of this element which was slowly suffocating it.

"The only people prospering in the Ridge at the moment seem to be the criminals and it's just not right."

She said she thought the lowest act was to rob someone on their wedding day.

"That's another reason why we are madly driven to find out who they are."
