Regional Arts CEO visits Ridge

08 Dec, 2011 09:27 AM
Last week the Gallery had a visit from Elizabeth Rodgers who is the CEO for Regional Arts NSW. Elizabeth had not been in the gallery since 2008 and was very impressed with the atmosphere and changes that have taken place.

Elizabeth joined Regional Art NSW as the Chief Executive Officer in December, 2006. Since that time she has developed and implemented a new strategic direction for the organisation focusing on its role as a peak body and service agency for arts and cultural development across rural and regional areas of the state.

Elizabeth travels extensively throughout the state giving support to the regional development officers and gaining first hand information about many of the challenges facing regional communities as well as seeing the great arts and cultural projects produced in the regions.

Elizabeth had some very good and informative advice for the president, Phil Mc Cue and Joanna Parker when they had a very enjoyable cuppa and chat before she headed off to other art venues with Jamie Lea Hodges.

Every year Regional Arts gives grants and earlier this year the LRACC held an inspiring workshop called “Tribal Pots” with Jennifer Bult as well as a very enjoyable workshop on “Beading and scrapbook making” with Shirley Kelly.
