Rain spoils visits

30 Jan, 2012 03:02 PM
The rain starts and the tourists stop! Or at least stop coming in to see us at the Information Centre.

They tell me the rain’s always a good excuse to ignore the washing, stay another day and curl up with a book in your caravan.

With a weeks’ worth of rain forecast it could be a very wet quiet end to tourism in January. Although we do keep busy at the Visitor Centre taking the weather readings twice daily - check out our readings (including rainfall) on the Australian government Bureau of Meteorology website.

Quote of the week: “Lightning Ridge was the focus of our trip to Australia!”

Visitors from Vancouver Canada, duration of stay unknown.

Note: The Lightning Ridge website has been rejuvenated. With a cleaner, crisper look incorporating new images it’s an improvement on our old website that beginning to look a little tired.

Check it out at the same address www.lightningridgeinfo.com.au and be sure to point any friends, family or visitors in that direction before they come to Lightning Ridge.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss anything you read here, please don’t hesitate to contact me at the Visitor Information Centre on 02 6829 1670.
