Office set to be the ‘BEST’

16 Dec, 2011 01:26 PM
BEST Employment Lightning Ridge will soon have a brand new office. After 11 years at the current location in Opal Street, BEST will be moving during January into a new building which will be located on the corner of Morilla and Opal streets.

The new building was delivered and positioned on the block which was the former site of Maude’s Café, on December 12, and work will continue on the building site over the next four to six weeks, to be ready for BEST to move early 2012.

Planning for the new office has been ongoing for some time after BEST purchased the land in June 2006. BEST see the construction of their own office as a commitment to providing services to the Lightning Ridge and surrounding communities.

BEST Employment Ltd, Manager of Employment Services Mr Joe Holahan said “BEST have strong connection with communities throughout north western NSW and believe investing into towns such as Lightning Ridge show our ongoing commitment to these communities.

“The construction of the building went to open tender in 2009 and contract negotiation with the successful tenderer Austam Homes began in March 2011 with construction commencing in May of this year.

“The building will provide BEST’s five existing staff with modern office space and a new training room. The office will include the installation of grid connect solar power, making it enviromentally friendly and energy efficient.’’

BEST Employment Ltd Lightning Ridge site leader Deb Smith said the new office would provide clients with new welcoming enviroment and our staff with modern facilities to deliver our services.
