28 Nov, 2002 10:06 AM
The Castlereagh Local Area Command (LAC) appointed new rural crime investigator senior constable Peter Gibson last month.

Senior constable Gibson brings with him his wife Rachael and three children and an abundance of qualifications and skills.

He has been involved in the rural industry one way or the other since leaving school.

In 1983 he was employed at the Mount Ringwood Partnership in the Northern Territory, where senior constable Gibson was employed to muster both feral and domesticated animals by horse, vehicle and helicopter trapping.

Senior constable Gibson joined the NSW Police in 1990 and since then has worked in Glebe, inner west of Sydney and in 1994 transferred to Condobolin in the central west.

He was appointed as the Lachlan LAC rural crime officer in June 1999, where he received numerous recommendations for his commitment and initiatives in dealing with rural crime.

Senior constable Gibson enjoys working in remote areas and is currently liaising with farmers in the Castlereagh LAC.

Anyone experiencing any problems in relation to rural crime can contact senior constable Gibson at the Walgett police station on 6828 6899.
