The Sunday market day raffles concluded last year with $4700 being donated to charities and organisations around Lightning Ridge.

$3000 was donated to the local hospital and the money will be spent on purchasing televisions for the rooms.

The swimming club and the historical society received $100 each and $100 went to local athlete Kristina Kelly for her upcoming trip to the US.

The Junior Rugby League and the Junior Soccer Club received $200 each, and Opal FM received $500.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service received $500.

Thanks go to Ann and Paul and everyone who came to the market days last year from Diane, Judy and Carol.

The market days are set to start again on Sunday, with the selling of the tickets at 12pm and the draw at 2.30pm
