Marchers reclaim the night

08 Dec, 2011 09:31 AM
A good group of people participated in the annual Reclaim the Night for 2011.

Good to see people of all ages with youth as well as children attending the event.

Yawarra Meamei Women’s Group team thanks the community for participating and the support received by Safe Families, Office for Women’s Policy and Ana Cvejic-Vastag and we thank the Lightning Ridge Police for their ongoing support with this event.

We thank the 2011 White Ribbon Day Ambassadors who take an active stance against violence against women.

The Reclaim the Night march signifies the fear of the night, also the fear of violence in the isolation of home.

Reclaim the Night is about ending domestic and sexual violence against women and children.
