The new Bi-Rite Electrical store in Walgett, an expansion of Lightning Ridge Electrical (LRE) has proven a successful enterprise.
In the outlets opening days an influx of customers have flooded the shop with more regularly appearing as word begins to spread.
No signs or advertising had been placed to announce the launch - only an open notice was placed on the front door.
"People came in saying Harvey Norman has come to town," operator Baden Anderson said.
Between 300 and 350 people came through the door on the very first day.
"The store is at least four times bigger, which will allow us to go into furniture and bedding in the future," Mr Anderson said.
LRE does not have furniture or bedding because of space but the store does have a delivery truck which will make all the items in the Walgett outlet available to Lightning Ridge residents.
While Baden is the manager of the store and will juggle the business chain, Sheila Nagy will keep the shop operating into the future.
The community support that LRE regularly shows for the people of Lightning Ridge has followed Baden into Walgett who has already donated goods to help the town out.
The Walgett Rural Fire Service (RFS) head quarters were recently broken into and several radios were destroyed and vehicles was taken on a joy ride to Brewarrina and back.
It was ditched 15 kilometres out of town because the bandits ran out of fuel. "We had a fundraiser for purchasing new radios but Baden has been very generous and donated them", said Walgett RFS Captain Allen Brown.
"At the end of the day they didn't have the money to replace them and they needed the radios", Mr Anderson.
