Local woman speaks out on theft

11 Feb, 2010 10:10 AM
Local woman Jenny Bienke is questioning the motive behind a recent theft at her Three Mile camp after she discovered that her generator had been stolen earlier this month.

This action has only added insult to injury to her suffering after dealing with a year of woes that saw her husband pass away in July and her home burn down soon after in October.

“It’s the lowest form of life who can steal from someone who has already lost everything,” Mrs Bienke said.

Mrs Bienke has had to force herself to accept that in all likelihood she will not see that piece

of equipment again, with her attention needed

in consulting with the insurance companies

who have not yet cleared her home cover and outright denied her husband’s life insurance payment.

“If they are low enough to take something from me I doubt they would feel guilty enough to bring it back,” she said.

While police have made a report on the matter, Mrs Bienke said she has resided herself to the bigger picture, taking the higher road in the petty theft, leaving her to only shake her head at the level some people stoop too to steal a piece of equipment.
