Great start to preschool year

24 Feb, 2005 12:03 PM
Lightning Ridge Preschool has started the new school year in a positive fashion with an increase in enrolments.

With the same staff continuing, preschool operator Liz Eddy said this year the school had a delightful bunch of children.

The children have been busy discussing the Chinese New Year and displaying the Year of the Rooster in a colourful picture on the wall.

The school is again educating the children about the dangers of snakes especially in the summer months.

Water safety has also been a topic for discussion and the children are well aware of the dangers of swimming without a parent.

The school is concentrating on preparing the children for primary school with activities focused on early levels of reading, writing, and arithmetic and school socialising.

The preschool is currently preparing for a licensing inspection that occurs every three years by the Department of Community Services.

Parents are welcome to come and see how the preschool operates.
