 Gifts come from afar

Gifts come from afar

16 Dec, 2011 12:04 PM
The Lightning Ridge branch of St Vincent de Paul received a consignment of 118 gifts sent by The Partners of Veteran Affairs Support Group, Singleton NSW.

These public-spirited ladies got together in 2003 to assist people affected by drought in rural areas.

Since then they have serviced many grateful families with gifts donated by members and friends.

One elderly lady made the bags to protect the goodies inside.

A trucking firm, Wallace and Janice Knodler from Branxton, delivered all 118 gifts to Lightning Ridge Vinnies for distribution, at no expense to the receivers.

These gifts will be put into Vinnies’ usual Christmas specials.

Mrs Gwen Smith a, volunteer at Lightning Ridge Vinnies, said “gestures such as these warm all our hearts at this festive time and all at Vinnies wish them a very special Christmas one and all, God Bless them.
