RFDS Lightning Ridge sub-branch secretary Kath Simpson has urged stall holders of the Trash and Treasure Market not to panic amid fears it could be shut down due to insurance costs. "We want to let stall holders and the public know the Trash and Treasure market will continue on as normal while this is sorted out," she said. The market has been put under pressure because it was revealed stall holders will have to take out an insurance policy. Ms Simpson said Walgett Shire Council and the RFDS were doing all they could to find an appropriate policy: "I don't want people thinking we are not going to be running the market anymore."
