Chance to reflect on busy year in the Ridge

22 Dec, 2011 11:03 AM
Last edition of the Ridge News for 2011. I’ve so enjoyed my year composing “Tourism in Your Town,” it’s been great to be able to share with you what is happening in tourism each week.

And what a year we’ve had in Lightning Ridge tourism - floods, a brand new Easter Festival, another successful Opal Festival and Symposium (utilising the new diving pool), the second ever ARTtober and we welcomed new volunteers to the VIC.

On behalf of the volunteers and staff at the Visitor Information Centre I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and urge you to ring in the new year in style. We look forward to another great year in tourism.

Catch you up in 2012.

Quote of the week: “Very friendly, helpful staff. Thanks.”

Visitor from Beccles UK, duration of stay two days

Reminder: The Visitor Information Centre is open every single day during the holiday period except Christmas Day. If you would like a list of operating hours for many local businesses and attractions drop by the centre, we’ll be here.

If you have any questions or wish to discuss anything you read here, please don’t hesitate to contact me at the Visitor Information Centre on (02) 6829 1670.

Lori White, VIC Manager and Co. (my dedicated team of volunteers
