The opal industry is sponsoring the Opal Fashion Bash to be held in Townsville April 8 to 10 2010, for the third year.
The National Opal Miners Association (NOMA) sponsorship plays an important role in introducing our national gemstone to young, up and coming Australians.
Opal wholesalers and retailers from the opal producing states of Australia donate opal jewellery.
One of the most outstanding recipients of opal, Rachael Finch went onto win Miss Universe Australia in 2009 and came fourth in Miss Universe.
Other recipients have been successful in securing modelling contracts across the world.
NOMA sponsorship includes opal jewellery for three young model best dressed categories and the major winners of 2010 Model of the Year, Best Runway Model, Most Photogenic Model and Young Model of the Year.
NOMA also supplies an opal pendant to Miss Universe Australia entrant.
This year’s Opal Fashion Bash will also include Miss Universe Australia Rachael Finch’s Rising Star Awards and NOMA will be supplying opal jewellery to the winners in two age divisions.
The Opal Fashion Bash is a fantastic opportunity for any young aspiring models in town as you can attend catwalk training classes and have the opportunity of winning a modelling contract with Tamblyn’s Model Agency. Even if unsuccessful, it is great fun and all the entrants seem to grow in confidence as the event progresses.
