The theme this year was ‘Celebrations’, and that’s exactly what was going on at the 2009 Opal Mini Prince and Princess Ball on Tuesday night.
Parents, grandparents, family and friends packed the Lightning Ridge Bowling Club for the annual event, which saw 34 entrants aged between 3 and 7-years-old parade through the club’s auditorium in a bid to be named the Micro and Mini Micro Prince and Princess.
This year’s Opal Queen Lauren Molyneux was on hand to emcee the evening, as was the 2008 Micro Prince Dylan Ciprian, and Micro Princess Natasha Kotru to help crown the night’s winners.
Everyone was a winner on the night, receiving showbags filled with goodies supplied by Mr Cheap.
Vanessa Kotru was crowned 2009 Mini Micro Opal Princess, and Eli Lohse won the Mini Micro Opal Prince.
Among the older entrants, Elva-Lou Cran was named 2009 Micro Opal Princess, and Kynan Samuelsson won the Micro Opal Prince crown.
Pam and Salie Greengarten travelled from Sydney to judge the event, and congratulated every entrant for their presentation and behaviour.
Congratulations to the pre-school on hosting the successful night, organisers Ambers Adams, Belinda Buckley and Keiran Walford, as well as their helpers.
The event looked beautiful and ran smoothly.
Of course, the night could not be held without the help of its many wonderful sponsors.
Look forward to next week’s Ridge News for all the coverage from the Mini Prince and Princess Ball held on October 7.
