Artist donates proceeds to service

12 Nov, 2009 10:07 AM
Artist Ann Golledge as part of her recent exhibition Imago has kindly donated the proceeds of a raffle for her artwork Ratter’s Ghost to the Lightning Ridge branch of Meals on Wheels.

Chuck Peters held the winning ticket and is now the proud owner of the artwork.

Co-ordinator of the Meals on Wheels food service Graham Henry has decided to use the money to upgrade the food temperature probes ensuring all hot and cold meals are stored at the correct conditions.

This will ensure the high

standards which currently

exist in food safety and handling procedures are maintained with the latest technological equipment.

Ms Golledge is pleased the donation of her work and the money it has raised from the local community has gone to such a worthy cause.

She said it was good to recognise the many wonderful volunteers who contribute their time and efforts to the many people who use this valuable community service.
